Premier League Duo Plot 2027 Move
Chelsea and Manchester United could both pursue Barcelona playmaker Dani Olmo next year, according to reporter Ekrem Konur. Neither side has made a convincing start to the Premier League season despite heavy summer spending, and both appear open to further investment in 2027.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly monitoring the Spain international.
Barcelona Set Hefty Price Tag
The 28-year-old is a key figure in Hansi Flick’s system and regularly features for Luis de la Fuente’s national side. Barcelona reportedly want around £76 million for the former RB Leipzig man.
With Olmo contracted until June 2030, the Catalan giants are under no pressure to sell and can drive a hard bargain.
Why Chelsea Could Have the Edge
Bayern may pose the biggest obstacle, offering a settled, trophy-chasing project, though English clubs can typically offer superior wages.
Chelsea appear better placed than United. Following Enzo Fernandez’s departure, there is space in the number 10 or deeper midfield role, whereas United already have Bruno Fernandes. Arsenal and Liverpool are well stocked in that area, while Tottenham’s form could deter the player.
Xabi Alonso Factor
A move to Stamford Bridge would reunite Olmo with fellow Spaniard Xabi Alonso, who has previously got the best out of creative midfielders such as Florian Wirtz and Arda Guler.
Chelsea will likely need Champions League football to land him, so results in the coming months could prove decisive.
Our Opinion
Olmo’s knack for finding space in the final third, incisive passing and well-timed runs into the box would suit Chelsea’s attacking structure. A bidding war with Bayern could push the price beyond £76 million.
