Premier League Trio Reportedly Keen

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be tracking AS Roma defender Emanuele Lulli, according to TEAMtalk. The 19-year-old made his senior debut under Gian Piero Gasperini earlier this season and has already kept two clean sheets in four Serie A outings.
Lulli joined the Giallorossi academy in 2021 after starting out at Tre Teste. TEAMtalk claims scouts from several English clubs were originally sent to watch Roma’s Wesley, but came away impressed with the teenager instead. Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be aware of his progress.
Roma Plan to Resist Interest
Roma are not thought to be open to selling just yet. The report suggests they intend to discourage suitors by offering Lulli a new long-term contract.
Scouting Profile
Standing 6ft tall, Lulli is a right-footed right-back who can also operate as a wing-back. He is technically assured, dribbles well in tight spaces and delivers dangerous crosses from wide areas. He also holds his own in the air and contributes defensively.
Why Each Club Might Be Interested
Chelsea signed Marco Palestra this summer, but fitness problems have limited him. Liverpool have lacked a settled right-back since Trent Alexander-Arnold left, with Conor Bradley sidelined for months and Jeremie Frimpong still adjusting to English football. Arsenal rely on Ben White and Jurrien Timber, both of whom have also had injury concerns.
Our Take
Lulli looks like a smart long-term target for any of the three, and the injury situations at each club make the interest understandable. Roma’s determination to tie him down could complicate matters, though. It will be intriguing to see whether Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool make a firm approach next year.
