Juventus have announced the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli after activating his €90 million release clause.
The Argentina international becomes the most expensive transfer ever in Italian football after the striker has signed a five-year deal with the Serie A champions, that will keep him at the Bianconeri until 2021.

Higuain’s transfer fee is reported to be the third largest overall in history, following Real Madrid’s duo Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The previous most expensive transfer move in an Italian league was Juventus’ sale of Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid for €75m.
Higuain has scored 71 goals since joining Napoli in 2013 and helped the club to success in the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana in 2014.
Higuain becomes Massimiliano Allegri’s biggest signing of the summer after the acquisition of Miralem Pjanic, Dani Alves, Marko Pjaca, Mario Lemina and Medhi Benatia.
