Liverpool Predicted XI vs Fulham: Munoz Replaces Barcola as Gakpo Race Continues

Liverpool head into their Anfield meeting with Fulham on Saturday looking to keep their unbeaten run going in the 2026/27 campaign, and manager Andoni Iraola has no fresh fitness worries to contend with.

Kerkez and Barcola Set to Feature

Milos Kerkez and Bradley Barcola both required treatment during the midweek Champions League trip to Atletico Madrid, sparking concern over their availability. Iraola played down the fears, confirming Barcola’s withdrawal was down to cramp rather than a genuine knock, while Joe Gomez is also back in contention for a squad spot.

Gakpo’s Involvement Still Uncertain

Cody Gakpo remains a doubt having sat out the Atletico fixture entirely, with his manager admitting a final decision will only be made once training wraps up. Longer term, Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike remain sidelined, though Iraola struck a cautiously optimistic tone over Ekitike potentially featuring before the turn of the year.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Fulham

Alisson should continue in goal, protected by a back four of Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet, Virgil van Dijk and Kostas Tsimikas, with Kerkez given a breather. Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister look nailed-on for the double pivot, while Florian Wirtz operates in the number ten role behind Alexander Isak. Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz are tipped to fill the wide berths, pushing Barcola to the bench.

A Chance for Munoz to Impress

Munoz’s inclusion feels like sensible squad rotation rather than any reaction to poor form from Barcola, and it could hand the youngster a genuine opportunity to stake a claim for a regular starting berth. With Fulham likely to sit deep and compact, Liverpool’s front four will need real inventiveness to break the deadlock, and Munoz’s directness down the flank might well prove the difference on the day.
