Italian club AS Roma are preparing a summer move for unsettled Tottenham centre-back Jan Vertonghen, according to Mirror.
The Belgian international has been one of the stars of the 2012/13 Premier League season, but he has struggled this campaign and rumours claim that he is thinking about leaving the White Hart Lane at the end of the season in search of Champions League football and the Italian giants Roma have been alerted.
It is understood that, Roma are currently sit second place on the Serie A table, eight points behind Juventus, and are in search for a highly-rated central defender.
Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini met with Vertonghen’s agent on at least two occasions and made enquiries to keep hold of the 26-year-old defender.
Spurs wants to keep their man, but it is clear that the London club are ready to cash in and will demand big money, if the former Ajax star is unhappy at White Hart Lane.
