Barcelona have confirmed the £15m signing of Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal, and will be introduced to the fans on the Nou Camp turf on Sunday afternoon.

The 28-year-old defender, who has already passed a medical – penned a five year contract with the Catalans, believed to be in the region of £15m.
The Belgian international joined the Gunners from Ajax in 2009 and has made 150 appearances for the North London club in all competitions, scoring 15 goals over a five-year spell.
Vermaelen becomes the Blaugrana’s second centre-back signing this summer following the arrival of Valencia’s Jeremy Mathieu.
