However, the Bundesliga champion haven’t disclosed the transfer fee but it is believed to be in the region of £24 million and the Germany international will wear No8 shirt for the Spanish giants.
The 24-year-old, whose contract was due to expire next summer has penned a six-year long term contract at the Bernabeu. He has scored 23 goals in 173 Bundesliga appearances, 13 for the Bavarians and 10 during his loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen.
His arrival to the Bernabeu could also lead to the exit of midfielder Sami Khedira, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer.
