Manchester United are quite close to sign Benfica attacker Nicolas Gaitan, according to Diario La Nacion journalist Claudio Mauri’s tweet.

Gaitan, 27, has been heavily linked linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer – back in June, the Argentine international’s agent revealed that the striker had agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, the Express claimed that a deal between two clubs was set to be reached. However, Mauri’s recent tweet revealed that Gaitan is close to joining the Red Devils as Angel Di Maria’s move to Paris Saint-Germain reaches close to completion.
If the deal goes through, Gaitan would join an Argentina contingent of Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo at the Theatre of Dreams.
