The Bundesliga club Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso on a two-year contract, The German champions confirmed the news on Twitter.

According to reports from the German media, the 32-year-old superstar is expected to cost the Bavarians around €8million in transfer fees.
The Spaniard midfielder, who announced his retirement from international football on Wednesday, will wear the No. 3 jersey at Allianz Arena. He is considered as an ideal replacement for the injured midfielder Javi Martinez.

Alonso joined the La Liga giants Real Madrid from Liverpool in 2009 for £30m move, has won the two European Championships and a World Cup with Spain.
