Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has agreed a long-term contract extension for a three-year at the club, which will keep him until the 2018 summer.
The 29-year-old, who had been strongly linked with a move to premier league champions Manchester United but the Spain international, has committed himself to the Spanish champions Blaugrana for three more years. In addition, there is an option for further extensions on his contract.
The confirmed news published in club’s official website,
“The President Sandro Rosell has confirmed that Andres Iniesta will now be staying at FCB until June 30, 2018.”
Iniesta has scored only 1 goal in 16 La Liga appearances this season. He was also a part of Spain national team in the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup.
With the three-year extension of highly experienced playmaker surely helps Gerardo Martino’s side to claim the La Liga title this season.
