Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Jarell Quansah but have no immediate plans to bring him back to Anfield, according to Football Insider.

Quansah Buy-Back Clause Explained
The centre-back left Merseyside for Bayer Leverkusen in a £35million deal, and his value has climbed since. The agreement reportedly contains a £59.5million buy-back option, which Liverpool can trigger until 15 June 2027. That gives the Reds a defined window, but no urgency right now.
Quansah was linked with an exit from Leverkusen over the summer. Liverpool considered adding a centre-back and a right-back, yet never made an approach. Scouts are still tracking his progress.
Which Clubs Want Jarell Quansah?
Liverpool are far from alone. Arsenal are said to retain their interest, while Real Madrid could look at defensive reinforcements next summer amid concerns over Eder Militao’s fitness. Chelsea are also reportedly keen on a player who can operate centrally or at full-back.
Liverpool’s Defensive Options
At Anfield, Quansah is not seen as a priority for the right-back role. Jeremy Jacquet’s emergence has eased concerns in the middle, while Brentford’s Michael Kayode has been linked as a full-back option. Barcelona’s Jules Kounde is another reported target, which could further reduce Quansah’s standing on the shortlist.
Our Opinion on Quansah’s Future
Liverpool’s patience feels sensible. Paying far more than the fee they received for a 23-year-old would be a considerable gamble, especially with Kounde and Kayode under consideration. Even so, the clause deadline means they cannot wait indefinitely, and rival interest could force their hand sooner than planned. If Jacquet keeps impressing, Quansah may become a luxury rather than a necessity.
