Everton manager Roberto Martinez eyes three attacking players

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is desperately looking to bolster his squad by adding three attacking players this summer ahead of Premier League 2014-15 season.

Martinez, 41, admits that the club are in need of attacking reinforcements and are chasing up to three attacking midfielders, following the departure of Romelu Lukaku’s to his parent club Stamford Bridge, who scored 16 goals in 33 appearances as the club finished sixth last season.

Martinez told reporters: “We want to bring in three attacking players.

“We feel that we are OK in terms of goalkeeper and defence, but we definitely want one midfielder and three attackers.

“You have to plan for the summer well in advance and we are very happy with the work we have put in since January in preparing for this summer.

“We’ve worked hard to identify the type of players we want and we are confident we will be in a good position to strengthen our squad before the end of this window.”

The Toffees have already secured the services of veteran midfielder Gareth Barry on a permanent deal, while they are also keen to sign former loanee Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
