Chelsea are reportedly preparing a staggering £63.5m bid to lure the Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos to Stamford Bridge, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon as quoted by Metro.
The Blues are set to smash the British transfer record to sign the Spaniard this summer.
The 30-year-old, who joined the Los Blancos in 2005, arriving from Sevilla for a fee of around £21m – was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United last summer as the La Liga giants tried to negotiate a deal with the Red Devils that would have seen David De Gea go the other way.
But the report claims that the central defender could now join the west London as an ideal replacement for long-standing captain John Terry, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
Even, The Sun reported that Ramos under Antonio Conte’s prime targets as he prepares to take over the reins at Stamford Bridge after the completion of Euro 2016.
If the deal goes through, Ramos will become the most expensive signing in British transfer history, leading the £59.7m United paid to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid in 2014.
