Newcastle have confirmed the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Luuk De Jong on loan until the end of the 2013-14 season, club confirmed on their official website.
The 23-year-old striker, who joined Bundesliga from FC Twente in 2012 has made 36 appearances with six goals for Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Netherlands international will wear the No. 18 jersey at St James’ Park and could likely to make his premier league debut against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Dutchman, De Jong will join Loic Remy, Shola Ameobi and Papiss Cisse in the Magpies strikeforce and could join permanently in the summer if he impresses the head coach Alan Pardew.
