Manchester United summer signing Paul Pogba is determined to win this season’s Premier League.
The France international, who re-arrived the Old Trafford from Juventus in a world-record £89m deal, is likely to make his second debut for the Premier League giants when the Red Devils face Southampton on Friday night.
The world’s most expensive player’s last appearance for the 20-time English champions came four years ago in a 5-0 win over Wolves.
“I am just happy to play football. I don’t even think about it [the transfer fee]. It has happened, it is behind me, I am just looking to win the league,” the Manchester Evening News quotes the attacker as saying.
“My ambition is always be the number one and be the best. So the objective is to win the league. We want to go back to the Champions League because that is where we belong.”
The 23-year-old midfielder was forced to miss club’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth on the opening day of the season due to suspension, a result of the two yellow cards he picked up in last term’s successful Coppa Italia campaign with the Italian champions.
