Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Lyden has committed his long-term future by signing a new contract that will keep him at the Villa Park until 2019.
The Australian international had entered the final year of his previous contract at the West Midlands club. The 20-year-old told the official club website: “I’m really happy to have signed a contract extension. It’s great that the manager has got faith in me and sees me as part of the future.
“I’ve loved my time here so far and I know that this is the best place for me to continue my development.
It’s an exciting time to be at the club too. There’s a great groups of lads here and the coaching staff have been brilliant with me. I want to help the club get back into the Premier League.”
Lyden has joined the Villans as a teenager and has established himself through the ranks at Villa, racked up four appearances to date.
