Manchester City midfielder David Silva has signed a new five-year contract with the club that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium till the summer of 2019, the Premier League champions have announced.

The 28-year-old has been a key player at Eastlands since joining City in 2010 from Valencia. During his time in Manchester – he has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and Capital One Cup.
The Spanish playmaker become the third player to agree an improved offer over the summer after Samir Nasri and Aleksander Kolarov has committed his future to the club.
Meanwhile – Edin Dzeko, Joe Hart, Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany are also thought to sign new deals at the club.
Manchester City to kick off their Premier League campaign away to Newcastle this Sunday.
