Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a move to sign Atletico Madrid defender Miranda during the summer, according to The Mirror.
The Brazilian centre-back has been a regular at the Rojiblancos’s defence since he moved to Madrid in 2011 from Sao Paolo, but now his contract is running out at the end of 2016 season.
The report has suggested that the west Londoners’ technical director Michael Emenalo watched Miranda in a 2-2 draw with Malaga at the weekend, while the 30-year-old is keen on a move to the Premier League leaders.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been heavily linked with signing a new defender ahead of next season, with Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels also believed as possible targets.
Miranda has made 19 appearances in La Liga this season, and has also scored three goals.
