Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson, who plays for West Ham United on loan has reportedly emerged as a summer target for Liverpool, as an ideal replacement for Glen Johnson.
The 23-year-old full-back has been in outstanding form at Upton Park this season, featuring in 25 of their Premier League games.
However, the Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is said to be interested in signing the England Under-21s international on permanent basis, although he could now face tough competition from Liverpool.
Jenkinson has three years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates, although he faces a battle to secure for a first-team spot with the likes of Hector Bellerin, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers
