Wayne Rooney to China?

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney will be offered a whooping £500,000 per week to join Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.

The 31-year-old has fallen out of favour with the newly appointed boss Jose Mourinho and has been outcasted in the last couple of games. The striker has been on the bench for the last few games and it appears that his regular time at Old Trafford might be vanished.

Shanghai SIPG are managed by the former England manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, who wishes to test Rooney’s resolve with an outrageous salary offer.

It remains to be seen how the England international responds to Shanghai SIPG’s lucrative offer in the coming weeks.

The package is thought to be somewhere around £80m and Daily Mirror are reporting that United captain offered the deal 10 months ago. Mirror add that the same offer is still on the table and the Chinese outfit will make their move once again during January transfer window.

Rooney will also have the option of playing in the United States of America at MLS if he decides to leave Old Trafford.

The England star has scored 246 goals in 532 appearances for United since joining them from Everton in 2004.
