Reports: Chelsea target Everton defender Seamus Coleman

Chelsea are reportedly planning a £20million move for Everton defender Seamus Coleman next summer, according to The Sun.

The 25-year-old defender has established himself as one of the best attacking right-backs in the Barclays Premier League. He has scored sixteen goals since joining the Toffees from Blackpool in 2009.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes Coleman is the ideal defender to replace Branislav Ivanovic at Stamford Bridge.

However, Premier League rivals Manchester United are also said to be interested in the signing Coleman. But, Chelsea’s are the favourites to sign Coleman because of a presence in the Champions League, as the Irishman wants to play in Europe’s top competition.

Coleman has still five-years left on his current contract at Goodison Park until 2019.
