Chelsea Plot Cut-Price Move for Victor Osimhen in August

Chelsea may have snapped up promising striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town earlier this month, but their hunt for a world-class No. 9 isn’t over just yet. The Blues are reportedly preparing a late swoop for Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen, with hopes of sealing a bargain deal in August.

According to Turkish journalist Serdar Ali Celikler (via Sports Illustrated), Chelsea are waiting for Napoli to lower their £63 million asking price for Osimhen as the transfer window edges closer to its final weeks.

While Galatasaray are also in the race, Osimhen remains fixated on a move to the Premier League, brushing aside interest from the Turkish giants. The Nigerian forward is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans at Napoli and is pushing for a fresh challenge.

With Chelsea already bringing in Delap, a move for Osimhen would give Enzo Maresca the luxury of rotation and elite firepower up front. It’s a statement signing the club could still pull off—especially if Napoli soften their stance.

Interestingly, Galatasaray may turn to Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson if Osimhen chooses the Stamford Bridge route, opening the door for a domino effect in the striker market.

For now, Chelsea are expected to turn their attention to bolstering other areas—wingers, defenders, and a new goalkeeper are all on the agenda. Talks with Jamie Gittens have already taken place, hinting at more arrivals to come.
