Aston Villa and Liverpool have both been linked with a move for Fiorentina’s 22-year-old Italian international Cher Ndour, according to Caught Offside.
The report claims Juventus are also monitoring the midfielder as part of their ongoing squad overhaul, with the Old Lady expected to press ahead with further rebuilding work next summer. Fiorentina, meanwhile, are said to be holding out for a fee in the region of €30-35 million.
Ndour’s Rise in Florence
Ndour joined Fiorentina from Paris Saint-Germain in February 2025 after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by in Paris. He has since made himself a regular fixture, racking up 61 appearances for La Viola — more than for any other club in his career — and contributing eight goals and three assists along the way.
Last season proved particularly significant, with Ndour playing a key role as Fiorentina fought off relegation, notching seven goals and three assists in 47 appearances across all competitions. That run of form has understandably caught the eye of clubs in both Italy and England.
A Fit for Both Premier League Sides
Villa strengthened their midfield in the summer by bringing in Joao Gomes and Leon Goretzka, yet John McGinn and Ross Barkley are both past 30, and Goretzka feels more like a stopgap than a long-term fix. Ndour’s blend of attacking output and defensive discipline could give Unai Emery exactly the kind of energy his engine room needs going forward.
Liverpool’s interest stems from a desire for a versatile alternative to Alexis Mac Allister, and Ndour’s dynamism ticks that box nicely.
Money Talks
Both English clubs can comfortably meet Fiorentina’s asking price, but Juventus’ involvement adds an intriguing layer of uncertainty. Personally, I’d argue Villa make more tactical sense given their ageing midfield options — though Liverpool’s pulling power in negotiations shouldn’t be underestimated either.
