West Ham United and Everton in Tug-of-War Over Sunderland Star Dan Neil

West Ham United and Everton are set to lock horns in the race to sign Sunderland’s midfield dynamo Dan Neil.

The 23-year-old has emerged as a key figure at the Stadium of Light, captaining the Black Cats during their push for Premier League promotion. However, with only a year left on his contract and uncertainty surrounding Sunderland’s return to the top flight, Premier League clubs are circling.

West Ham, under new boss Graham Potter, view Neil as the ideal successor to Carlos Soler, whose loan spell at the London Stadium is unlikely to be extended. Potter is keen to inject youthful energy and technical prowess into his midfield, and Neil’s consistent performances in the Championship have caught the Hammers’ eye.

Meanwhile, Everton boss David Moyes is just as eager. The Scottish tactician is a long-time admirer of Neil and believes the young midfielder could add much-needed composure and tempo control to his side. With Everton looking to rebuild and strengthen their spine, Neil fits the bill perfectly.

Should Sunderland fail to earn promotion, they may be forced to cash in on their prized asset. With both West Ham and Everton ready to pounce, a Premier League showdown for Dan Neil’s signature seems inevitable.
