Tottenham join race to sign PSG Wonderkid Axel Tape

Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a fierce transfer battle to land Paris Saint-Germain’s highly-rated teenage defender, Axel Tape. According to Fabrice Hawkins, the 17-year-old prodigy has rejected PSG’s offer of a first professional contract — sparking major interest across Europe.

Axel Tape: A Rising Star at PSG

Tape, who joined PSG’s academy in 2020, has rapidly climbed the ranks to become a standout performer for their Under-23s and France’s youth sides. Naturally a central defender, the versatile Tape can also operate in midfield, showcasing his impressive tactical flexibility. Despite already making his senior debut, he looks set to leave Paris this summer.

PSG are desperate to keep him, but the young star has made his intentions clear by turning down a long-term deal, putting top clubs on high alert.

Tottenham and Leverkusen Ready to Battle

Tottenham are not alone in the race — Bayer Leverkusen have been quietly working on a deal and are seen as serious contenders. However, Spurs are prepared to flex their financial muscle to beat the German side.

With a clear focus on recruiting young talents under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham view Tape as a future first-team regular. Expect Spurs to push hard in the coming weeks to bring the French sensation to North London.
