Southampton are reportedly planning to launch their transfer record bid to seal a permanent move for Atletico Madrid versatile defender Toby Alderweireld, according to The Mirror.
The 26-year-old impressed during his loan spell with the Saints last season, and caught the attention of several top European clubs.
However, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is ready to bid 18 million pounds to secure the services of the Belgium international from Spanish side Atletico Madrid to ensure his stay at the south coast side.

Alderweireld has made 26 league appearances last season, contributed in the Saints’ brilliant 7th place finish.
