Report: Juventus want Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva

Juventus have reportedly made an enquiry about the availability of Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva as the Italian champions are keen on the midfielder’s signature, according to the Daily Mail.

The Brazil international has been out of the picture at Anfield for some time and was ruled out of the 18-man squad that travelled to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City last week.

The report suggested that the South American is now looking for his options after he understands that he is currently fifth choice in the Merseyside club.

Following interest from Europe, the Old Lady are now keeping a close eye on the 28-year-old midfielder as a potential replacement for Sami Khedira, who has been sidelined for two months due to hamstring injury.

Lucas, who is Liverpool’s longest serving player, ahead of Martin Skrtel. He has made 275 appearances since joining the Reds from Gremio in 2007.
