Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy confirms Gunners switch


Newcastle defender Mathieu Debuchy has confirmed that he will be joining the North London club Arsenal this summer, according to reports from the Metro.

The Frenchman, who has made 46 starts for the Magpies over the last seasons is likely to become Arsenal’s fist summer acquisition and will replace Bacary Sagna who left the club for Manchester City on a free transfer.

Newcastle United is reportedly expecting to receive a fee in the region of £8 million for the 28-year-old right back, who joined the Magpies from Ligue 1 side Lille in January 2013.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is also keen on the Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez and is hopeful of landing him at the Emirates ahead of next season.
