Transfer Rumours: Arsenal Eye Bayern Munich star Mario Mandzukic


Arsenal are plotting a summer move for Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic, reported in The Metro.

It is understood that the 27-year-old’s future has been in doubt following with an agreement to bring Robert Lewandowski to Allianz Arena on a five-year contract at the end of the season. So, it is believed that, Mandzukic future could be in doubt at the Bavarians regular first-team.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been aware of this and keen to bring the Croatian at the Emirates this summer to back up Olivier Giroud.

Mandzukic has established himself as one of Bundesliga‘ highly productive player, scored 23 goals in just 36 appearances for the German Champions this season.

According to The Guardian, Nicklas Bentner could leave the Gunners at the end of this season, whose contract is due to expire in this summer. Whereas, Yaya Sanogo is an inexperienced to play regularly in Wenger’s starting XI. Therefore, Mandzukic would be the ideal option at attacking reinforcements for The Londoners.
