West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are both eyeing a move for Brighton & Hove Albion’s young Argentine talent Facundo Buonanotte, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old joined Brighton in January 2023, showing flashes of his immense potential but failing to cement a regular starting spot under Roberto De Zerbi. Last summer, he was sent on loan to Leicester City to gain valuable playing time—scoring five goals and providing two assists in 14 league starts.
However, with Leicester suffering relegation, they opted against making his move permanent. Brighton, meanwhile, are ready to send him out on loan again, but this time they want him to remain in the Premier League.
Premier League Interest Heats Up
Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have both registered interest in Buonanotte, but Brighton prefer keeping him in England. West Ham are reportedly ready to make a concrete approach this month, but face competition from Tottenham, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest.
For West Ham, the search for a new creative attacker comes after Mohammed Kudus’s departure to Spurs. Buonanotte’s versatility—operating as a left-footed playmaker or drifting in from the right—makes him a tempting option.
Spurs’ Hunt for Creativity
Tottenham’s interest stems from a pressing need to bolster their attacking midfield following James Maddison’s serious knee injury. While Eberechi Eze, Savinho, and Nico Paz are also on their shortlist, Buonanotte offers a more affordable and longer-term project.
Fresh from winning the Europa League and securing Champions League football, Thomas Frank is keen to strengthen his squad depth. Spurs have been negotiating for Savinho from Manchester City and Eze from Crystal Palace but are now also weighing a move for the Brighton youngster.

Buonanotte’s technical flair, vision, and adaptability have made him one of South America’s brightest exports in recent years. With the September 1 transfer deadline fast approaching, a late scramble for his signature could be on the cards.
