Everton are reportedly exploring a move for Burnley striker Zian Flemming, according to Football Insider, as the Toffees continue their search for fresh attacking options before the transfer window closes.
Flemming’s Rise at Turf Moor
The 28-year-old Dutchman joined Burnley on loan from Millwall in 2024 before the move was made permanent a year later. He played a key role in the Clarets’ promotion campaign, contributing to 16 goals across all competitions. Despite Burnley’s relegation last season, Flemming impressed in the Premier League, netting 11 goals, and he has continued that scoring form this term with three goals in his opening two matches.

Growing Competition for His Signature
With Burnley reportedly bracing for offers before the window shuts, Everton face stiff competition from French side LOSC Lille, who are also strongly linked with the striker. Burnley are said to be reluctant to sell but may be forced to raise their asking price given his contract, which runs until 2029, and the mounting interest from elsewhere.
Why Flemming Fits Everton’s Plans
Standing at 6ft tall, right-footed, and known for his aerial presence, work rate, and poacher’s instinct, Flemming could offer a natural successor to Beto, whose future at Hill Dickinson Stadium remains uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract. Meanwhile, Thierno Barry has started the season strongly after a mixed debut campaign, giving Everton a promising attacking pairing if Flemming arrives.
Everton have struggled to land a new forward all summer, and Flemming’s current form, versatility, and prime-career age make him an appealing target as the club looks to strengthen its frontline before deadline day.
