A week before, Liverpool supporters were excited about the prospect of Alex Teixeira arriving at Anfield before the January transfer window closed.
Although, the 26-year-old attacker admitted he was keen to join the Reds in order to enhance his chances of making into Brazil squad for the 2018 World Cup finals.
But, The Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed that the Brazilian playmaker has agreed a move to the mega rich Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, worth around £38 million, an amount which is about £8m more than the Reds were willing to pay to the Ukrainian club last month.

Here’s how Liverpool fans have reacted to Teixeira’s move..
Weird thing about Teixeira to Chin is that it cost £38m. Despite strong reports saying we bid around £35m, surely an extra £3m was possible

Alex Teixeira move to China has been confirmed by his manager. What a stupid move, even I would’ve rather joined Liverpool.

Shakhtar Donetsk paid €6m for Teixeira, sold for €50m. Wonder if Nanjing’s architecture & parks or the £10m-yr post-tax salary clinched it.

If Teixeira is following the money to China then it definitely wasn’t meant to be. The lack of activity is still a joke though #LFC

Alex Teixeira just proved he values money over his actual football career- not fit to play for #LFC @alextex
