Done Deal: Arsenal sign Frenchman Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle

Arsenal have announced the signing of defender Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United for an undisclosed fee.

The Gunners have not disclosed the transfer fee, but the reports have suggested – it believed to be around £12million.

The France international, who was part of the France World Cup squad – will replace Bacary Sagna, who left the Emirates for Manchester City on a free transfer earlier this summer.

The 28-year-old will wear the No.2 shirt at Emirates, who becomes Wenger’s second signing of the summer transfer window after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.

The talented right-back has made 46 appearances for the Magpies, after joining from Lille in january 2013.

Debuchy is likely to make his Arsenal debut at Emirates Cup, starting next month.
