Swansea right-back Connor Roberts signs new three-year deal

Swansea City defender Connor Roberts has committed his long-term future by signing a new three-year deal, that will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2019.

The Welshman’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of this season, but he has now committed himself to the club by putting a pen to paper on a two-year extension.

Roberts, 21, is currently serving his loan spell with League One outfit Bristol Rovers until January, although he is yet to make his debut for the Pirates.

“I’m pleased to commit my future to the club for another three years. I haven’t played yet at Bristol Rovers, but I’ve just got to keep working hard on the training ground and hope my chance will come,” the defender told club’s official website.

Roberts has racked up 54 appearances during his loan spell at Yeovil Town last year and won the Glovers’ Player of the Year award.
