Transfer Rumours: Manchester City eye Athletic Bilbao midfielder Iker Muniain

Manchester City are reportedly planning a £15m summer move for Athletic Bilbao‘s Iker Muniain, according to Goal.

Muniain, 21, has established himself as one of La Liga’s top young talents, with 158 first-team appearances for his club since 2009.

Despite being a key player at the San Mames, Muniain’s contract is due to expire in June 2015 and there have been such rumours that Athletic are willing to sell their man to cash in if an offer of around £15m received this summer.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has been impressed with the Spaniard and is keen to bolster attacking midfield for 2014-15 campaign – although, the Chilean have got the enough cash to lure Munain to the Etihad Stadium along with big pay-rise on his contract.

The report suggests, FC Porto stars Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando are also under City’s radar for the summer targets.
