Done Deal: Man City sign Fulham wonderkid Patrick Roberts

Manchester City have announced the signing of the highly-rated teenager Patrick Roberts from Fulham in £8m deal.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who represented England at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels has made 22 appearances for the Cottagers over the past two seasons.

Roberts becomes City’s third English acquisition within a week follows in the footsteps of Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph, as manager Manuel Pellegrini keen to lead his squad back to Premier League glory.

The midfielder is unlikely to make into City’s first-team squad, and maybe he will be loaned out in order to play regular football next season.

City are in hunt to add homegrown talented players to their ranks after the departures of James Milner, Frank Lampard, Dedryck Boyata, Scott Sinclair and Micah Richards.
