Chelsea eye January move for Valencia defender Jose Gaya

The Premier League champions are determined to address failings so far this season and has prepared a list of January targets for the upcoming transfer window.

Despite signing a world-class left back Baba Rahman from Augsburg earlier this summer, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen to add more depth to his squad with quality additions.

The Portuguese manager is set to raid Spanish club to secure the services of highly-rated defender Jose Gaya from Valencia.

The 20-year-old has been attracting interest from the European heavyweights with his stellar performances during last season and now the report has suggested that the west London club are keen to acquire Gaya’s signature, according to Fichajes.net

The Blues were said to be keeping a close eye on the Spaniard over the summer, although a significant push never happened.

Chelsea could face a tough competition for Gaya’s signature as Manchester City are also said to be interested in his services when the transfer window reopens in January.

Gaya has played 36 games for Los Che’s first team, is also the subject of interest from the La Liga giants Real Madrid.
