Done Deal: Arsenal signs Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez


Arsenal have officially announced the signing of the Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez from La Liga giants Barcelona.


According to Sky Sports reports, Sanchez has joined the Gunners on a long-term contract for a fee in the region of £35million, however the club has kept the amount “undisclosed”.

The 25-year-old striker has established himself as one of the most exciting attacking players in world football since his move to Barcelona in 2011 from Udinese, he has made over 100 appearances, scoring 43 goals in the last three seasons with the Spanish giants.

Sanchez arrival to the Emirates would surely bolster the attacking and provide depth to the Arsenal’s squad, which already include the star players – Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud, and Theo Walcott.

The former Udinese star becomes the second-most expensive transfer in the Gunners’ history, after the acquisition of German star Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid last summer. He is expected to make his debut for the north London club in early August during the Emirates Cup.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are also expected to announce the signing of French defender Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle, In addition Wenger is still keen in the summer market for a midfielder and back-up goalkeeper.
